Calxie was started in 2026 by a high schooler. After finding out the price of what a calculator costs, he was shocked and began buying and selling calculators under an eBay account. In 2025, he saw large chain textbook companies renting textbooks for a semester and that’s when he got an idea. He decided he was going to open his own calculator rental business. Having previous experience with calculators, he took some inventory and began working on a website. He used his previous skills of selling to create, design, develop, publish Calxie. In the spring of 2026, he opened Calxie. His unique and creative ideas made obtaining a calculator easier and cheaper.
